I.T committee
As the I.T Committee, we help younger kids to learn typing, learn how to code, and learn how to use laptops and PCs and logging into computers.
We put kids' imaginations into coding to make them into reality. We have taught kids in coding how to make characters talk, move and repeat actions. If you have any ideas to help kids code, please let us know.
We started teaching kids how to code last year and we are grateful to be able to do this so that the next generation can take our place when we leave the school.
Evan & Royce
Hello, we are a part of the IT committee in St. Lorcan’s! This committee was set up last year and is made up of children from 4th - 6th class. What we have done so far is we have taught the kids (and teachers) how to code on Scratch. This has been very fun to do and also challenging at times. We have taught kids from 1st to 6th class how to move a character, add backgrounds, add sounds and make them bounce from side to side! We have learned how to use Canva and made posters advertising things around the school, such as the Junior Entrepreneur Program (completed by Ms Hodgins’ 5th class), football cards, meme wars and the Christmas Bake Sale! We also made a poster to help support Ms. Scully (school secretary) and Mr. Glover (caretaker). At lunchtime, we meet and learn new things about computers. We have lots of fun ideas to teach with the school. We hope you liked reading about us!
