Christmas at St. Lorcan's!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Christmas is nearly upon us and I wish to inform you of what is happening between now and the Christmas holidays in St. Lorcan’s Boys’ NS.

The Student Council are running a competition to find our best Christmas themed classroom window and door. The winners will enjoy a movie day with popcorn on Tuesday 21st December. The Student Council are also running a charity food drive for the St. Vincent de Paul. Any non-perishable food/non-food items you can donate, would be greatly appreciated. The Student Council will make up hampers from all items received. These hampers will be given to the St. Vincent de Paul. The final day for sending in any items for the hampers, is Friday December 17th.

A special visitor will be coming to visit our Junior & Senior Infant classes next Tuesday at 12pm...but don’t mention it to them, as it is a s a big secret… Ho!Ho!Ho!

We will hold a whole school Christmas sing-a-long, while sitting around our Christmas tree, on the school yard, on Tuesday 21st December (weather permitting). No doubt, all the Christmas carols will get us in the festive mood.

On this day, we will also hold our Christmas Jumper Fundraiser. Everyone is requested to dress up in their favourite Christmas jumper coming to school. €2.00 or any donation possible will be greatly appreciated. All funds raised will be used to purchase outdoor basketball hoops for the school.

The school closes on Wednesday 22nd December for the Christmas Holidays.

To facilitate social distancing, please see the following closing times:

Junior and Senior Infants will finish at 11:45am.

All other classes will finish at 12 noon.

School will reopen on Thursday January 6th 2022.
