To all the boys of Senior Infants 2019/2020 (and their families)

This week‚ with only two days to go before we get our holidays‚ we are not putting up have done enough! Our year together in Senior Infants was exciting‚ interesting and fun until March‚ when things got a little scary and weird. We know that doing schoolwork at home was not always easy for your Mams‚ Dads or you. But‚ we also know that we could always count on each other and this is what got us through it have all been amazing!

We Hope that you found our workpacks useful‚ helpful and enjoyable. Remember to keep learning. In the words of Dr. Seuss “‘The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go”.  Keep reading......It will take you to places you now dream of!

When you come back to school in September an Amazing year awaits you! You will be in first class. You will have a lovely New teacher in a lovely new room and you will learn lots and lots of interesting things!

Remember to be Κind and loving to each other- love makes the world go around!

You have now come to the end of your year in Senior Infants. Have an Outstanding Summer break and Until we meet again love‚ laugh and learn!!!

There is a special message hidden in our letter. What do the colourful letters spell out?

For the Week beginning 20 April 2020

Hello Parents and boys,

Welcome Back!

We hope you had a wonderful Easter and are all keeping well in these strange times.

This week we have tweaked our presentation of activities by setting out work for each day together with a separate folder of activities for history‚ geography‚ science and SPHE which you can try as and when it suits you.

We hope that this helps you structure some discrete “learning-time” everyday.

Please remember that you are free to engage with these activities as suits your family. Your son can do the work as and when you choose and only do as much as you and your son are able to organise.  We have set up an email at should you need to contact us but please know that we do not expect you to upload work. Try a couple of things every day. Tick the boxes as you go so that you can keep track of your son’s progress and keep reading!

The themes that we are focusing on this week are:

  1. The number-line and maths in the environment

  2. The D.I.Y. shop

  3. Forces

  4. Transport

If you have any ideas or worksheets (on these themes) that you want to try out please go for it!

If you do not have access to a printer/paper/laptop/PC/tablet etc PLEASE do not worry about printing-off any of the pages that we have uploaded. Do however try to improvise-

  • Make worksheets yourself based on what we have sent.

  • Cut up old wallpaper and use it for writing/drawing on.

  • Cereal boxes can be cut up and the inside can be used for writing on.

  • Play together.

  • Learn a song.

  • Bake/Cook together. Read the recipe/write the ingredients(or shopping lists) etc

  • Go out into your garden and listen to nature

  • Write a letter or card to your granny, auntie, hero....... and post it.

  • Help about the house/ the garden/ the shed/ the neighbourhood.

Have a terrific week everyone..... Be safe‚ Stay strong! We can do this together!
