Multicultural Week 2019

Multicultural Week – Bake Sale and Project Day
As you know, Friday marks the final day of our very first Multicultural Week in St. Lorcan’s. We have been extremely lucky and privileged to welcome many parents who have shared the wealth of their culture and knowledge with the boys. This has been second only to the fantastic efforts made by the boys in researching and presenting some astounding projects on the four corners of our world.
We are asking for one last contribution from parents in our school community for Multicultural Week 2019. If you can, please donate, cook or bake something from another part of the world. Something as simple as buns with icing to match a countries colours would be great! Ideally please include your son in this process and if possible link the cuisine with a country allocated to their class. We realise this is a very busy and costly time of the year but rest assured that all support will go a long way for the school. Many thanks in advance to the wonderful Parents Association who have been working hard to arrange volunteers for Friday.
Contributions can be dropped to the school hall on Friday morning from 8:30am. From 8:50am parents are invited to visit the hall themselves where they can purchase tea/coffee, enjoy the cuisine from around the globe and most importantly they can admire all the hard work and projects completed by our pupils. Your support and interest will go a long way! For parents of Junior Infants and Senior Infants access to the hall will be at 1:30pm with your son. Parents will have access again at 2:30pm until 3pm.
Please do your best to drop in on the day. We will have spot prizes and raffles then too. If you are kind enough to prepare something, please be sure to include a list of ingredients. Be advised that any food with nuts will not be allowed in the school under any circumstances. We look forward to seeing you on the day. If you have any suggestions for future Multicultural Activities or amendments to the Global Citizenship Policy please be sure to relay that to your son’s teacher or email:
Once again, many thanks in advance for your generosity and support. Our sincere thanks are extended again toward the Parents Association who are always working hard behind the scenes making St. Lorcan’s the great community it is.
