Welcome to Ms. Mulvey's 3rd and 4th Class
Check out some of the learning and fun that's been happening in our class.

We are big readers in our class. We make sure to read every day. Our favourite class novel is Gangsta Granny by David Walliams.

We love playing 'Word Wipeout' to help learn our spellings.
We went for a lovely winter walk around the school.
We looked for all the
different colour
leaves we could find,
and collected some
of our favourites.
We created some fantastic self-portraits and talked about all the things that make us unique and special.
We used primary colours and dabbed our brushes to create these beautiful autumn trees.
How would you try this STEM challenge? Each group tried to create the longest paper chain using the same amount of paper. Check out the results...
We've been learning about 2-D shapes. Here we practiced making some regular and irregular 2-D shapes, as well as
tessellating patterns.
We made spooky mosaic inspired collages and Zentangle inspired pumpkins.
Have a look at some of our wonderful Halloween artwork.
We learnt all about the Romans.

Each group chose a topic and displayed their learning in a book or poster.
Don't the boys look fab in their Communion outfits!?
We had a great day celebrating. Thank you to the parents' committee for all the treats!
Science week was so much fun!
We grew rainbows, mixed magic milk, learned about electricity circuits, made a chemical reaction with baking soda and vinegar and lemon juice, used physics to build towers out of spaghetti and marshmallows, and created 'ooblek', a half solid half liquid goo. It was a little messy but worth it! What a week.
Our winners from the spaghetti and marshmallow challenge.
One was the tallest, the other was the strongest.

Congratulations to Charlie for coming 3rd place in the Palmerstown Credit Union art competition. His drawing featured the slogan 'imagination is your creation'. Well done.

Jeremy and Dan have been voted our new Student Council representatives. Well done to everyone who put themselves forward. It was a close vote.
Have a look at some of the leaf prints we made using the fallen winter leaves.
December was a great month. We had lots of fun making Christmas art in our class. We also won the classroom window and door decorating competition, which meant we got a movie day with popcorn.
In January, we have been learning all about Space. We have studied the planets, the sun, the moon, and what it is like to live on the International Space Station. Here is some of the work we have been doing.
Fun with fractions.
Our school were lucky to get to attend the Stewart's Hospital St Patrick's Day parade. What a spectacular show!
World Book Day was so much fun. We spent the day talking about our favourite books, listening to and writing stories, playing some book hunt games, and dressed up as our favourite characters.
Look at the 'reading rainbow' we created using our favourite books.
After two years we are delighted by the return of our annual Mad Hatter's Walk in St. Lorcan's. We were blown away by the incredible creativity and inventiveness of the creations we saw around the school and in our class. What an amazing day that also helped us raise funds for our up and coming sensory garden. Well done to everyone who got involved. It was a great end to our second term, and the start of our Easter holidays.
