Welcome to Ms. Hendrick's Second Class
Back to School
Second class are delighted to be back in school. Look at all those happy faces! We are all looking forward to a great school year ahead.
Bonkers about Boggle!
We just love playing Boggle.
You link the letters to make words and each word must be 3 letters or longer.
The boys have gotten so good at this game. Sometimes they come up with better words than me!
Winter is Here!
We have been learning about Winter and the changes this season brings. Winter is a chilly season!
In Art we made snowmen and Winter trees. The boys designed some hats, scarves and gloves, to keep their snowmen cosy and warm.
Newspaper Polar Bears.
In school we have been learning about the importance of recycling. Always reduce, reuse and recycle!
We made Polar bears using recycled newspaper and coloured paper. The boys all did a terrific job.
You could try this activity at home and try make some newspaper sharks or cats!
The birth of Jesus
In Religion we have been learning about the birth of Jesus. We learnt that the wise men followed a star and it led them to the stable in Bethlehem. We also learnt that King Herod wanted to get rid of Jesus, as he did not want to have any other ruler than him.
Class of the Month
We were delighted to be chosen as class of the month for December. We were presented with our trophy at assembly.
Well done to all the boys on their hard work and for always being so kind and helpful to everyone!
Congratulations to our student of the month for January- Darragh.
Luke won a Certificate of Merit and Ryan won Cainteoir na Míosa.
Keep up the wonderful work boys!
Eat the Rainbow!
It's important to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables. Why don't you try to 'eat the rainbow' today.
Spring has Sprung!
Look at our gorgeous spring flowers. They really brighten up the area outside our classroom. Well done boys!
I hope you are all keeping well.
I have attached some work for the boys to do at home. Any work that I have given, is done to help and support parents, as opposed to creating an unhelpful burden. It is at the discretion of parents as to when/if it is done. Work is to be completed in copies, where possible, or on sheets of paper.
I look forward to seeing you all safe and well when school reopens.
