Each class receives a minimum of 60 minutes timetabled Physical Education per week. We have taken a whole school approach to teaching the strands and each month is dedicated to a specific strand. Each class level has their own Active School Flag folder which contains the Primary Schools Sports Initiative lesson plans which aid and support the teaching of the various strands. This year we introduced Active Homework and the boys are really enjoying it. Some examples of Active Homework include throwing and catching skills, running and jumping skills, balancing and various exercises such as star jumps, heels flicks, toe-touches, high knees, crab walks and much more.
Well done to our Senior Gaelic Football Team who participated in the Cumann na mBunscol tournament in September. The boys played very well, displayed great team spirit and did us all very proud. Maith sibh a bhuachaillí!

Mad Hatter's Walk
St. Lorcan's held its annual 'Mad Hatters Walk' on Friday, April 12th 2019. There was a wonderful array of hats on display as the boys put in huge effort. The community of Palmerstown came out to wave and cheer us on. It was a great day, enjoyed by all in St. Lorcan's.
Unfortunately due to Covid19 the Mad Hatter's Fundraiser for 2020 had to be cancelled.
As part of our 2020 Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations, we held a ceili in the hall for each class level. We learned a great dance called 'An Dreoilin'. Bhi an sport agus spraoi ag gach duine!
