Mr Walsh  2nd Class

Each week, the boys are given a STEM activity where they complete different challenges all focused on science, technology, engineering and maths. The boys have been busy working on construction. The first challenge was for the boys to create a marshmallow tower, only using marshmallows and spaghetti. The boys had some fantastic ideas to build the highest and most stable tower.

Teddy Bear day
We have been working to collect cubes in our classroom for good behavior. The boys have been trying their best and have already collected over 30 cubes. As a reward, the boys brought in a teddy bear for the day.

The teddies even helped us with our English, where we are working on creating narrative stories!

This month we have been learning all about 2D shapes in Maths. The boys had great fun learning about all of the different 2D shapes we can find in our class and in the environment.

The boys even constructed 2D shapes using matchsticks!

Since returning from the Christmas holidays, we have been learning all about the history of the GAA, which the boys have been really enjoying, We have learned all about what the GAA is, what sports are in the GAA, who founded it and have also had a look at Croke Park - The Home of the GAA.

In art, the boys designed their own GAA jerseys, using small pieces of colored paper!
